Description
Fabrics
Choose one fabric for the main body and hood of the cloak. Hoods are lined with a coordinating material (designer’s choice); the body of the cloak is unlined. If you’d like to add a full lining, please contact us for a quote. If you want to choose your own lining, or add a trim, please see below for instructions.
WARNING: Your monitor may not show colours or textures accurately! If the exact shade is important to you, you can order a fabric swatch for $5, which will be deducted when you order anything.
Custom
If you don’t see the fabrics you’re looking for here, please check out the vast selection in our fabric galleries. Because Opera cloaks take a huge amount of yardage, prices can vary a LOT depending on your material choices (and we’ll need to double-check to make sure we have enough left of some fabrics). Once you have chosen a fabric, or if you want to pick your own hood lining material or add some trim, please contact us directly so we can send you a quote. Same goes if you would like to add a lining to the body of the cloak.
For the main body and hood of the Masquerade cloaks, you can choose from the following Fabric Galleries:
- Lycra Velvets
- Velours
- Woollens
- Faux Suedes (avoid canvas-backed)
- Suitings.
If you want to choose your own hood lining, choose one from the following Fabric Galleries:
- Light Satins
- Silkies
- Taffetas (plain weaves, textured, and pin-tucked types)
- Cottons
If you want to add a trim on the front edges, around the hood edge, and/or the bottom edge, select one or more from the Trims Gallery.
Sizing
Seeing as how this is a cloak, one size tends to fit most. But if you are very tall or very short, or need a particular length for reasons of your own, let us know how long you would like your cloak to be – just measure from the hollow of your throat down to the desired hem length.
If you’re really tiny or really large, send us any circumference measurement (pick chest, waist, hip, whichever makes you happy – this is not a fitted garment, so no need to get too exact) – and your height too, just for safety.
